COLONIC
FLOTATION
ACUPUNCTURE
WHAT TO EXPECT...COLONIC
Colonic irrigation (Aka colonics or colon hydrotherapy)
is a safe effective method for cleansing the colon of waste material
by repeated, gentle flushing with water.
We have both open and closed FDA registered colonic
devices.
Closed System
A colonic is an irrigation of the large intestine
(or colon) with warm water. A session is a comfortable and often
relaxing experience for many people. The room is immaculate, cozy
and quiet with an adjoining bathroom.
Each hydrotherapy session lasts approx. 35-45
min. You should allow a total of 1 ½ hours for your first
visit and 1 hour for follow-up visits. Your colon hydro therapist
will discuss your symptoms (if any) and review your history. The
procedure will be explained in full detail allowing ample time for
questions.
During the session, you will be in a private room with only your
therapist who fully appreciates the sensitivity of the colonic procedure
and will help you feel at ease. After the gentle insertion of a
small, plastic speculum into the rectum, you will be completely
covered. All materials are disposable and for one time use only.
A gentle instillation of warm, clean, triple purified water circulates
in the rectum. The hydrotherapist monitors the temperature and pressure
of the water infused into and out of the colon. This is a self-contained
system. There is NO ODOR, NO MESS and NO EMBARRASSMENT. Our main
goals during this session are your safety, comfort and well-being.
Open System
We are proud to offer the LIBBE open system.
This system allows for the client to have more control over their
cleansing experience. This device has a water tube going into the
body. Water flows in, water flows out, when you feel the need to
release just release...The debris will flow out around the rectal
tube. Relax, Enjoy.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on you and your goals. As an average
rule of thumb, anyone looking for general detoxification would need
a total of 6 to 8 sessions over no more than a 6-8 week period.
Maintenance
For those who are interested in extending the
benefits of a colonic series, maintenance sessions are recommended
at 1 visit per month. Monthly cleanses help to keep toxic load at
a minimum while continuing to decrease the burden on your other
detoxifying organs (i.e. liver, kidneys etc...).
There is no commitment necessary. We are here to assist
you any way that we can.

Orientation for Floating:
If you are planning your first flotation experience,
this checklist will help make it a truly memorable experience.
1-If you are coming to Starting Point Flotation Center
directly from home; you may want to take a pre-float shower before
leaving. You must shower and shampoo before entering the tank to
prevent deodorant, talc, hair spray or gel, lotions, ointments etc.
from contaminating the tank water. If you can’t shower before
coming you can use the shower at our facility.
2-If possible don’t shave for 8-12 hours before
floating. The salt water may sting slightly for a few moments if
you have just shaved.
3-If you have a major rash or skin injury floating
is not recommended, due to salt irritation, until the condition
has healed. Minor cuts and abrasions, however, cauterize quickly
and are not a problem…
4- Do not consume coffee, alcohol or stimulants or
any kind on float day. Try to keep intake of all liquids at a minimum
for 2 hours prior.
5- If you smoke, try not to smoke for 2 hours before
floating. Tobacco is a stimulant.
6- Try to avoid aspirin or pain killers for 2 hours
before floating, unless prescribed by a doctor.
7- You may wish to bring your own towel, soap and
shampoo, but we do supply towels, herbal soap and shampoo.
8- Please arrive on time so no one’s time in
the flotation tank has to be cut short.

WHAT TO EXPECT...ACUPUNCTURE
If it is your first visit, give yourself time to be at the clinic
for 1 1/2 hours to allow for the initial consultation and treatment.
Thereafter, visits will normally last about an hour. Avoid coming
to treatments on an empty stomach, and if possible, plan to take it
easy for a few hours afterwards. As far as results are concerned,
this varies from person to person and depends on the severity of the
imbalance. Mild conditions, such as a headache, can often be resolved
in one treatment, whereas more chronic conditions may take more time
and patience. Our goal here is to create a safe, comfortable oasis
for you to slow down and focus on health and healing.
